At the Flexible Space Association we have been working hard to keep our members connected and up to date in these difficult times. The start of our free webinar programme on 23rd April was one of the ways we have done this, and we have enjoyed welcoming a number of FlexSA member operators, partners and non-member industry experts to present on topics relevant to the flexible space industry.

INNOVATION IS KEY IN THE COVID-19 ERA

technologywithin Technical Director, Dr Adam Case and BizSpace CEO Gareth Evans spoke to our Executive Director Jane Sartin about how the pandemic has changed their approach to working, and what they are doing to go above and beyond to help their customers manage through these challenging times.  They also spoke about the potential long term impacts of COVID19 on the industry

Sallie Maskrey from Portal Business Centres and Jonathan Weinbrenn from BE Offices gave their views on the current situation with COVID19, the preparations they are making and how flexible workspaces might move forward in the months to come.

TWO WORLDS AND IN BETWEEN: THE POST-PANDEMIC WORKPLACE

Neil Usher, who had been due to speak at our annual conference on the day of the webinar, discussed what it might mean for ourselves, our organisations and the broader environment to take one of three paths after the pandemic – to revert to established ways, to take a new direction entirely, or to cut a path between the two. The webinar looks at what each will mean specifically for the flexible workplace sector.

THE NEXT FLEX – NEW OPERATING MODELS AND BEYOND

John Williams (Head of Marketing, The Instant Group), and Will Kinnear (Director, GKRE) presented their joint research based on the different operator models, their success, and how they will have to adapt over time and post-COVID19 to address client demand (and landlord intransigence!).

THE INCREASING IMPORTANCE OF DATA AND TECHNOLOGY TO FLEX SPACE OPERATORS

Two representatives of members of the Flexible Space Association, Peter Anderson (Chief Information Officer, The Office Group) and Miro Miroslavov (CEO, OfficeRnD) together with Adam Blaskey (Founder, Produktiv) discussed the importance of data in safely welcoming back members into flex spaces, what truly ‘smart’ buildings look like in the flexible space sector and how to use data to drive secondary revenue streams and to better understand your members.
